Start 90 days out, not 9. What our therapists actually recommend for brides — and the three things to stop doing a week before.

Give yourself ninety days

Skin turns over roughly every 28 days, so a pigmentation or acne concern needs three full cycles to visibly settle. Brides who come to us three months out get a calm, planned programme; brides who come three weeks out get damage control. Book a consultation early even if you do not start treatments straight away.

Fix hydration before you chase glow

Most dullness we see is dehydration, not lack of a facial. Two litres of water a day, a simple hyaluronic serum at night and a non-greasy moisturiser morning and evening will do more in a month than any single sitting.

Do a patch test on every new product

The month before the wedding is the worst possible time to try a new brand your cousin recommended. Anything new goes on your inner arm first, forty-eight hours ahead. This applies to home remedies too — raw lemon and baking soda have caused more pre-wedding rashes than anything sold in a bottle.

Space your treatments correctly

Facials and clean-ups every three weeks, de-tan two weeks before the function, and nothing aggressive — no peels, no threading of new areas, no bleach — in the final seven days. Your last facial should be at least five days before the wedding so any redness has time to settle.

Sleep, and stop touching your face

The week before the wedding, cut down on outside food, keep your phone screen clean, change your pillowcase every second day and sleep seven hours. It sounds unglamorous, but it is what separates a base that sits well from one that slides.
